Neighbours with knowledge, opening the door to NHS digital services

For many people in Ayr and the surrounding coastal communities, the shift to NHS online portals, app-based prescription requests, and digital appointment booking has felt less like progress and more like a locked door.

Slow broadband, unfamiliar smartphones, deteriorating eyesight, and years of paper-based healthcare habits have left thousands of local residents — many of them older adults managing multiple long-term conditions — unable to access the very services designed to support them. Vibrant Health Advocates - Eta exists to open that door.

We sit alongside people, in their homes, in community halls, in GP waiting rooms and library meeting rooms, and we walk through NHS digital tools together at whatever pace makes sense. We are not a call centre, and we are not a one-size-fits-all course — we are neighbours with knowledge, and we believe that every person in Ayrshire deserves to feel in control of their own health records and healthcare journey.

One-to-One Support

We match each person with a trained digital health navigator who meets them where they are — literally and figuratively. Sessions are paced by the individual, never rushed, and always grounded in real NHS tasks that matter to that person's life.

Connectivity-First Thinking

We know that in parts of South Ayrshire, broadband is patchy and data allowances are tight. Our guidance is designed for low-bandwidth connections, and we work with local partners to help people find affordable, reliable internet access.
