Everything we achieve is built on the generosity of local people

Vibrant Health Advocates - Eta is a community-rooted organisation, and everything we achieve is built on the generosity of local people who give their time, their skills, and their support. Whether you have an afternoon a fortnight to volunteer as a digital health navigator, a professional network that could open new doors for us, or simply the means to make a financial contribution, there is a place for you here.

Ayr is a community that looks after its own — and with your help, we can make sure that no one in this town is locked out of their health because of a screen.

Your donation funds printed guides, travel costs for home visit navigators, device lending, and the coordination that keeps every drop-in session running. A gift of any size makes a direct and traceable difference to people in Ayr and South Ayrshire who need us most.

No tech background needed — just patience and time

Our volunteer digital health navigators come from all walks of life. Retired teachers, former nurses, younger community members who want to give something back — what unites them is patience, an ability to explain things clearly, and a genuine interest in the people they support.

Before working with any member of the public, every volunteer completes our bespoke training programme. It covers the key NHS Scotland digital tools, how to support people with different levels of digital confidence, accessibility considerations, and how to handle sensitive conversations about health.

Volunteering typically means three to four hours a month — a drop-in session at a local library or community centre, or occasional home visits where needed. It is flexible, rewarding, and genuinely needed.
